Investigative Consultants (IC) was founded by Kris Buckner. Mr. Buckner is a licensed private investigator in the State of California and currently oversees the day to day operations at Investigative Consultants. Mr. Buckner is a leading expert in the United States in matters relating to intellectual property including trademark counterfeiting, piracy and other matters related to intellectual property rights investigations and enforcement.
Based on years of hard work and successful investigations, Investigative Consultants has grown to become one of the largest private investigation companies in the United States of America specializing in intellectual property investigations and enforcement. IC Maintains a full staff of investigators in our Southern California office. IC also utilizes the services of a network of highly trained investigators throughout the United States to assist in servicing our clients' needs.
Mr. Buckner has personally conducted thousands of investigations on behalf of numerous world famous brand owners and companies involving all types of matters that affect the business community. The IC client list is a virtual "who's who" of the business world.
Mr. Buckner and IC have been involved with countless number of cases that have lead to the successful criminal prosecution of hundreds of persons for various criminal offenses. Mr. Buckner has personally testified as an expert in trademark counterfeiting, piracy and other types of cases in various courts throughout the United States.
Mr. Buckner has been an invited speaker & trainer at various conferences and trainings hosted by various organizations including The United States Chamber of Commerce, The United States Patent and Trademark Office, The International Anti Counterfeiting Coalition, The Federal Bureau of Investigation, The Los Angeles Police Department, The California Chamber of Commerce, Oregon D.O.J., The International Trademark Association, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, The American Apparel and Footwear Association, The California Narcotics Officers Association, The Asian Gang Investigators Association, The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, California Board of Equalization, Southern California Fraud Investigators Association, The International Association of Fraud Investigators and several other private and governmental organizations.
In 2005, Mr. Buckner was invited by United States Senator Susan M. Collins, Chairman of the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, to speak at a Senate hearing titled, "Counterfeit Goods: Easy Cash for Criminals and Terrorists." Mr. Buckner appeared at the hearing and testified before the Senate Committee. The hearing drew attention to how criminals and terrorists were using the sales of counterfeit and pirated goods to raise money for their causes.

Mr. Buckner has received numerous awards and acknowledgements for his efforts from various organizations including The Los Angeles Police Department, The United States Customs Service, The City of Los Angeles, The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Louis Vuitton, Abercrombie & Fitch, The Recording Industry Association of America, Ed Hardy, Lifted Research Group (LRG), The United States Chamber of Commerce and The United States Patent and Trademark Office. Mr. Buckner has personally received awards from The Beaverton Police Department, The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and The Los Angeles Police Department.
In 2009, Mr. Buckner was nominated by members of The Los Angeles Police Department for an award with The California Peace Officers Association. Mr. Buckner attended the California Peace Officers Association annual conference in Monterrey, California and was presented with their Award of Appreciation.
Mr. Buckner has personally trained over 10,000 law enforcement officers and Government Officials from across the world and is frequently asked to speak to all types of organizations and groups.
